Eagles Featured On Dan Fogelberg Tribute
The first new Eagles recording in a decade is coming out in November.
The current lineup of the group — with the late Glenn Frey‘s son Deacon as well as Vince Gill and his wife Amy Grant — has recorded a version of “Part Of The Plan” for a new tribute album to the new A Tribute To Dan Fogelberg album which comes out November 17.
The track marks the first Eagles studio track since the “Long Road Out Of Eden” album in 2007. Fogelberg, who died during 2007 from cancer, was part of the same California rock scene that spawned the Eagles, and the group’s Joe Walsh produced Fogelberg’s Souvenirs album in 1974.
Jimmy Buffett, Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald, Dobie Gray and several country artists have also recorded songs for the set. In a statement, Gill — who also contributed a rendition of “Longer” with Grant for the album — says that, “I always loved Dan’s music, and getting the opportunity to sing on the ‘High Country Snows’ record over 30 years ago is still a great memory for me.”
