For fans of The Monkees, December 30th is a big day: It’s the birthday of both Davy Jones and Michael Nesmith!
Critics be damned, The Monkees put out some of the best pop songs of the 60s. (They certainly had some of the best songwriters at their disposal. Looking at you Neil Diamond!) So, in honor of Jones and Nesmith, we look at six track that we think are essentials in the Monkees catalog and should be cranked loudly today.
“Last Train To Clarksville”
A re-edited song from The Monkees TV series. This is from episode 2 with adds from episode 3 and live shot from episode 32. This completes all editing of songs from the first season of the TV series.
This is the Monkees 1966 hit single "Steppin' Stone" which I edited to match the full length single. This is my very first video project in which syncing the audio with the video was tricky.
