Here’s What The Liquid On Top Of Your Yogurt Actually Is
If you are a fan of greek yogurt, then you are surely aware of the water-y liquid on top of your yogurt when you first open the package. That liquid used to seriously weird me out. I would try to mix it in the second I opened my yogurt, just so I didn’t have to look at it. According to Cosmopolitan, “It’s actually not water, and it’s not even anything that mysterious. It’s whey – the liquid remaining after milk has been strained and curdled – and it’s supposed to be in Greek yogurt for nutritional purposes and because it makes yogurt creamier. You’re seeing it separated out, which often happens during its journey to your house.” Wow, I had no idea it was whey! I feel much better knowing that the water wasn’t something more gross.
I used to cry when I opened my yogurt and there was liquid at the top. Now I simply move forward. So yes, I would say I have matured
