Guitar Greats: Dimebag Darrell

One word that comes to mind when thinking about "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott:  RE....SPECT!

That's what he had for metal and the guitarists that came before him.  In fact, "Dimebag" Darrell may have been one of rock's biggest fans.

He had Ace Frehley sign his chest so a tattoo artist could trace it to make it permanent.

He became friends with Eddie Van Halen, one of his idols, who upon his death placed his original black and yellow "Bumble Bee" guitar into his KISS Kasket, which was one of Dime's favorite guitars.

While "Dimebag" Darrell will always be one of rock's greatest "What if's," his incredibly tragic death can't overshadow his profound influence on those who followed after him.
